But it’s starting to feel like I have some progress. Here’s a picture of the big V in progress. I have finished the fronts and back and have started the ruffle. Maybe I can finish it after all.

Consolation Prizes!

Since I’m probably the only sock knitter anywhere who won’t be going to Sock Summit this August (too close to new grandbaby’s arrival)… I took full advantage of Knitpicks recent sale on sock books… I got The Eclectic Sole by Janel Laidman And Knitted Socks by Anna Tillman AND Sock Innovation by Cookie A (woohoo!) Not quite as good as being there in person, but lots of good reading and knitting inside! (I suspect a certain person will expect a certain pair of socks now, though) I’ve been super busy putting the finishing touches on the Knit-Out event for next week. I can’t believe it’s almost here. But I am getting pretty excited. I’ve also had house guests for most of the week. C and M who are students at St. Louis Christian College and are doing their Lab week here at our church have been staying with me. They have been pretty easy guests for the most part they get up have breakfast, then head out and aren’t back until late in the evening. C is a pretty awesome crocheter and we’ve had a lot of fun doing needlework together and visiting when they return in the evening. I think I’ve convinced her that she needs Ravelry (hee, hee, hee). So I have had time to do some knitting. I’m almost done with the Falling Leaves Socks and have made forward progress on the Delve front. Hopefully I’ll have some knitting pictures to post soon. We have had two sunny days in a row which is really nice. (The curbberg is no more, yay) Happy Knitting Nana

I also finished the super-secret one-skein project that I have been designing for our One Skein Challenge at Prairie Arts and Fibers this weekend. It will be unveiled during the event on Saturday so if you are in the area, stop by, otherwise, you’ll just have to settle for this sneak peek: I cast on my swatch for Delve and plan on having it on the needles sometime soon. And last but not least, the Color Collision socks had to be frogged and restarted. I got through the heel turn on the first sock and could no longer deny their tiny-ness. So, I frogged them and started over with a bigger needle. I'm thinking there should be a rule that pattern designers should disclose whether they are tight or loose knitters with the gauge information. Anyway, this time the size is much better; I am back to the heel. You can see the cuff from the original sock in this picture: I'm leaving for the airport now to pick up DD#1 when she arrives for her visit. I am so excited! Hopefully I’ll be able to post about our adventures, in the meantime, Happy Knitting!

Now That That's Done...

Much better, don't you think? Now I have an actual work space to work on again!

I didn't get much photo-worthy knitting done over the weekend, but suffice it to say, each project got worked on a little bit.

I've been working on setting up the classes and events for the "Boot Camp for Socks" that we're going to have at the shop in on June 14th. We've actually decided on which classes to teach, but there's always room to embellish. Any suggestions from fellow sock-knitters or anyone who attended a boot camp at their LYS would be highly welcomed!

So in lieu of knitting content, I give you ladies in waiting....

I have no clue why, but for some reason the cats were doing this on Friday night. DH and I suspect they were waiting for us to leave

... maybe we spoiled their party plans by staying in?
